“ The atmosphere felt welcoming and the people felt like they were enjoying themselves. Everyone was lively and were enjoying the place. The drinks were great. The sweet tea was amazing and the lemonade was great. If you enjoy sweets, I definitely recommend the candied yams with the chickens and waffles! The service we received was great and was worth the wait. Definitely get a reservation before coming. ”

She didnt interrupt when she noticed I was in conversation, which I really appreciated. The food arrived in just minutes I was prepared to wait at least an hour! Everything was hot and beautifully seasoned. We started with fried pickles and catfish bites, while Marvin enjoyed shrimp and grits. I had cabbage, stewed tomatoes, and fried chicken. The chicken was fried to perfection and seasoned just like youd expect from a homecooked meal. And the bread pudding? It was sublimeIve never had bread pudding that tasted this good outside of my home or Jamaican restaurants!. The vibe and music was great too 1010 for us. ”

“ This place did not disappoint. I have been to all 3 locations as they moved over the years and location 2 was very disappointing. We fell in love with the food at the 1st location and we made frequent trips. It was very disappointing when they closed the doors to move. Visited the 2nd location and the taste of the food had changed up on us. I was so disappointed. Trying the 3rd location and I must say that girl back. The food was soooo good. I dont know what she did but whatever it was keep doing it. The food is the bomb. Food was seasoned perfectly, appearance was pretty, and the young man that waited on us was on point....dont let the price scare you, it is pricey but worth every penny....loved the atmosphere also. ”
“ Now that they are in a new location. Im so glad I finally got to eat here. I absolutely loved it. Definitely worth the hype and money. The food was very delicious and service and vibes were great. Best Cornbread and catfish nuggets I have ever had. My meatloaf slice was so big I had to take the rest home. Awesome sides and a wide variety are offered with your entree if its not sold out. Nice drinks too. But the tea was way too sweet. I definitely will go back for round two. I recommend anyone visiting Richmond,Va to go there for great southern cooking. ”
“ Overall great outing. 545 reservation, we were heading out for home by 640. Dinner was hot, fresh, delicious and we took home half of what we ordered. Portions are generous. I think the value is excellent. I did notice that the cloth napkins were exchanged for paper. I get it. Cost savings to keep a menu within reach. Nice amount of customer flow for a Wednesday evening.
